Clifton Melvin Whitley, 77, who resided in Paris, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013, at his home. He was born February 1, 1936 in Caddo, Tex. to the late John Wesley Whitley and Mary (Boatwright) Whitley. He was also preceded in death by one son, Clifton Ray Whitley; one sister, Pauline Nelson; and three brothers, Jimmy, Carl, and Troy Whitley.

He worked for Cloyes Gear Company in Paris for 34 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, an avid fisherman, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris.

Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, at Paint Rock Cemetery, located south of Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

Officiating the service was the Rev. Vondal Davenport.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathy; one daughter, Donna Herrera of Greenville, Tex.; three sons, Clinton Whitley of Paris, Lonnie Whitley of Texarkana, Tex., and Ronnie Whitley of New Blaine; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
