It has been a Jekyll and Hyde baseball season for the Paris Eagles.

After struggling early, they rattled off three wins in a week.

Last week, they were competitive at Charleston, plating seven runs, but could not back it up with pitching and defense in a lopsided 17-7 loss. At Atkins, it was more of the same. Paris led 3-2 after the top of the third, but surrendered two in the bottom half and fell apart in the fourth, giving up nine runs allowing the game to be ended early. They hosted Booneville for their Senior Night, but again, the bats were just not there. Booneville came out swinging and never looked back, winning 10-0.

The Eagles did get in two games in tournament play and again flipped the script. They beat Lamar 6-1 after losing to them last month. They followed that up with a win over host Magazine, who only had one previous loss at home before meeting up with the Eagles. Paris took the game 4-3 and will have momentum heading into the postseason.

Paris is 5-14 on the season, but all five wins have come in their last seven games. They will open district tournament play in Jessieville on Thursday.
