The Paris Junior Eagles racked up 249 yards of offense and scored five touchdowns to defeat the Mansfield Junior Tigers 36-0 Thursday night at Eagles Stadium.

The win sets up a showdown featuring two undefeated teams next Thursday when the Junior Eagles travel to Charleston. Both teams are 4-0 for the season and 2-0 in conference play. Kick off is at 7 p.m.

Against Mansfield, Paris’ first team offense played only one quarter and one series before Coach Marc Tucker put the second unit in. In that time, the first offense ran only seven plays but scored four touchdowns. Paris jumped out to a 22-0 lead after the first period and never looked back.

Cole Norton carried the ball only three times but rushed for 71 yards, scored on a 40-yard run and made a two-point conversion. Nate Davidson had two carries for 41 yards, scored on a 38-yard run and made a two-point conversion. Austin Brewton had two carries for 50 yards and Matthew Ezell made a two-point conversion.

Paris quarterback Preston Drewry was three of four passing for 70 yards. He threw one scoring pass and one two-point conversion. Tanner Phillips caught two passes for 42 yards and one of those was a catch for a 39-yard touchdown. Preston Stinnett had one catch for 28 yards.

Paris’ defense held Mansfield to only 71 yards. Aaron Sheffield led the defense, getting seven tackles. Stephen Broadbent had five tackles. Preston Stinnett had four tackles. Ben Ingle had three tackles and recovered a fumble.
