The Scranton boys basketball opened the Class A State Tournament at Harrison with a win Thursday. Scranton defeated KIPP Delta 57-28.
Seth Sibenmorgan had 16 points and Corey White and Brandon Berg both had 14 for the Scranton Rockets (37-1).
Scranton took control at the half, leading 34-17.
"We were able to control the ball and shoot well and neutralize their size," Scranton coach James Robey said. "We did what we needed to do to get control of the game.
Connor Robey had 10 points playing on a sprained knee.
The Scranton boys advance to the second round where they will play the winner of Friday’s game between Stephens and Calico Rock Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, County Line’s boys baksetball team will play Saturday against Southside Bee Branch at 3:30 p.m.
